Features

Every feature, on every plan.

40 features, from the network your mailboxes log in through to the API your AI calls. None of them is locked behind a bigger plan: plans only set how many emails you send a month.

Ballast is cold email software with every feature on every plan. Connect unlimited mailboxes, send sequences at a pace your domains survive, and handle replies in one inbox, priced by the emails you send.

Sending and deliverability

What keeps your domains out of spam, built in rather than sold as add-ons.

  • Deliverability Network

SMTP and IMAP mailboxes log in through Ballast's network: static IPs used only for mail, never our app servers. Each workspace's mailboxes keep the same IP, so Google, Microsoft and your SMTP host always see them log in from one place. New workspaces start on a separate part of the network until they've shown clean sending.

  • Dedicated IPs

Want your mailboxes to log in from IPs no other workspace uses? Add dedicated IPs in Billing, $5 a month each. Your mailboxes move onto them, and nothing else changes.

  • Warmup pool

Mailboxes in the pool trade a few emails a day, 2 rising to 10 by default, open them, answer some and pull them out of spam. Inbox rate by provider.

  • Ramp-up

A new mailbox starts at 5 campaign emails a day and adds 2 a day up to its limit (30 by default).

  • Human pacing

A random 4 to 10 minutes between emails from each mailbox, only inside each lead's working hours.

  • ESP matching

Gmail leads get your Google mailboxes, Outlook leads your Microsoft ones, when the campaign has both.

  • Bounce breakers

A mailbox past 5% bounces, a campaign past its limit or a workspace past its own pauses on its own and says why. Nothing trips before 50 sends.

  • Your own link domain

Unsubscribe, click and open links sit on links.yourdomain.com, never on a domain shared with other senders.

  • One-click unsubscribe

Every email carries the List-Unsubscribe header Gmail and Yahoo ask bulk senders for, and an unsubscribe stops every sequence for that address.

  • Nightly domain checks

SPF, DKIM, DMARC, MX and 9 blacklists for every sending domain, every night, with the fix for each problem.

Mailboxes

Connect as many as you own. The plan never counts them.

  • Unlimited mailboxes

No per-mailbox price on any plan. Connect ten or ten thousand.

  • Google, Microsoft and SMTP

Google Workspace and Gmail with an app password, Microsoft 365 and Outlook.com with Microsoft sign-in, and any SMTP and IMAP host, with settings detected from the domain.

  • Bulk mailbox import

Upload a CSV of mailboxes, including the exports from Instantly and Smartlead.

  • Health per mailbox

Login checks every morning, today's sends against its limit, ramp days left, inbox read time and the reason when something breaks.

Leads

Bring the list you have. Ballast tells you what it left out and why.

  • Import presets

Instantly, Smartlead, Lemlist, Apollo and Clay exports mapped for you, custom fields kept, 10,000 rows in about four seconds.

  • Free email checks

Typos of big providers, disposable domains, role addresses and domains with no mail server, flagged on import.

  • Verification with your key

Connect MillionVerifier, ZeroBounce or NeverBounce and verify in bulk at their price, with no markup.

  • Lists, labels and suppressions

Group leads into lists, label them by hand or from replies, and keep addresses and whole domains you never email.

  • Country from what you have

No country column? Ballast fills it from the time zone, phone number or a country domain, and says which.

Campaigns

Write the sequence once and read it as each lead will.

  • Steps and A/B variants

Up to 10 steps and 5 weighted variants a step, follow-ups in the same thread.

  • Spintax and variables

{Quick|Short} picks one option per lead; {{firstName|there}} falls back when a field is empty.

  • Preview against real leads

Pick any lead and see their exact email, with a warning before anyone gets a blank.

  • Content checks

Length, spam words, questions, links, images and emojis, checked while you type, stricter on first emails.

  • Schedule in each lead's time zone

Days and hours set once, sent in each lead's own time, with optional start and end dates.

  • Stops on reply

A reply stops the lead, optionally everyone at their company. Out of office waits until the return date.

  • Write with AI

Draft a whole sequence from your offer profile, or rewrite, shorten or try a new angle. Drafts arrive turned off.

Quick question about Brightline

Hey Maya,

Saw that Brightline is hiring two SDRs. Teams that size lose the first month to setup: lists in one tool, mailboxes in another, replies nobody reads.

We get new reps sending from their own mailboxes in a day, with the replies sorted for them.

Worth a short call next week to see if it fits?

Sam

Replies

Every answer from every mailbox, in one inbox.

  • Unibox

Replies from all your mailboxes seconds after they arrive, with the campaign emails folded above them.

  • Labels that run triggers

Interested, Meeting booked, Not interested and your own, each able to suppress, remove from the campaign, pause it or move the lead to a list.

  • AI labels, if you turn them on

Off by default, because replies are other people's words. Out of office, auto-replies and unsubscribes are caught by rules either way.

  • Answer in the thread

Reply from the same mailbox, in the same conversation, without leaving Ballast.

Analytics

Replies over opens. Opens stay off unless you want them.

  • Overview dashboard

Sent, replies, positive replies and bounce rate over 7, 30 or 90 days, with gauges for mailbox health and won rate.

  • A/B winners on replies

By step and variant, with a winner only once each variant has 50 sends and it beats the runner-up.

  • By mailbox and provider

See which mailboxes and which email providers answer, and where bounces come from.

  • Reply sentiment and timing

Sentiment from the labels, and replies by weekday and hour in each lead's time zone.

  • Clicks and opens, opt-in

Per campaign, only through your own link domain.

Team, API and AI

Everyone you work with, and every tool you use.

  • Unlimited seats and workspaces

Invite the whole team and every client, with owner, admin and member roles.

  • REST API

Every operation in the dashboard is an endpoint, with an OpenAPI spec.

  • MCP server

Claude, ChatGPT and Cursor can run Ballast. Anything that sends, imports or deletes asks first.

  • Signed webhooks

Replies, labels, bounces, unsubscribes, wins and paused campaigns, retried for about two hours.

  • Your own AI key

Connect OpenAI or Gemini and pick the model; labels and drafts then run only on your key, with no monthly limit.

The honest part

What Ballast doesn't do.

So you know before you sign up.

  • Newsletters and transactional email. Use an ESP built for that; Ballast is one-to-one outbound from your own mailboxes.
  • A lead database. Bring your list from Apollo, Clay or anywhere else.
  • CRM sync. Use webhooks or the API until the integrations ship.
