Billing and plans

Every plan has every feature, unlimited mailboxes and unlimited seats. Plans differ only in how many emails you send a month, how many active contacts you hold and how many AI drafts run on Ballast's keys.

Ballast is cold email software with every feature on every plan. Connect unlimited mailboxes, send sequences at a pace your domains survive, and handle replies in one inbox, priced by the emails you send.

Prices in US dollars. Yearly billing costs 10 months, so two are free, and still gives you the monthly email allowance each month. Unused emails don't carry over.

Emails a month

  • Every campaign email counts, first emails and follow-ups. Answers you send from the Unibox don't.
  • The month runs from the day your subscription started, not the calendar month.
  • At the limit, sending pauses until the next month starts or you upgrade. There is no overage charge. A plan covers the volume; each mailbox still sends only its own daily limit. See Mailboxes.

Active contacts

An active contact is a lead that hasn't been emailed yet or is still mid-sequence. Leads that replied, bounced, unsubscribed, were suppressed or finished every sequence stop counting and stay in the workspace with their history. You never delete leads to make room.

Imports, Add lead and adding leads to a campaign stop when they would take you past the limit, and say how many fit.

One plan per workspace

Each workspace has its own subscription. Agencies with a workspace per client pick a plan for each, sized to that client's volume. Seats inside a workspace are unlimited.

Changing, cancelling and invoices

  • Owners and admins pick or change the plan in Settings, Billing. A change is prorated on the next invoice.
  • The person who pays for the workspace manages invoices, the card and cancellation through the billing portal. A cancelled plan runs to the end of the period you paid for.
  • Payments go through Dodo Payments, our merchant of record, which charges VAT or sales tax where it applies and issues the invoices.

Failed payments and no plan

  • If a payment fails, the dashboard stays open so you can update the card, but sending, imports and other paid actions stop until the payment goes through.
  • A workspace without an active plan, new or after a cancelled plan ends, opens on the plan picker instead of the dashboard. Its data stays. Teammates who aren't owners or admins see a waiting screen until someone picks a plan.

A plan doesn't make a list or an offer. If you don't know who you are writing to and why they'd reply, work that out before you pay for sending.
